Kaboom is impetuous movements, music, light and video projection on an exciting stage. When Subjazz takes over Dansens Hus again, we can promise audiences some of the very best in Norwegian jazz dance. Six tremendous dancers with backgrounds in hip-hop, jazz, Afro, modern dance and classical ballet explore the power that groups have over us. What happens when someone wants to break away from the group or is cast out?
is a choreographic duo made of Karl-Erik Nedregaard and Knut Arild Flatner. They have been working together for more than 15 years, and have developed their own artistic expression. Subjazz is, alongside Oslo Danseensemble, the best jazz dance team in Norway. Their roots are in jazz dance and contemporary dance, but they are famous for mixing styles in their choreographies. Their productions have been critically acclaimed both in Norway and abroad. For many people, Nedregaard and Flatner are best known as choreographers on TV Norge’s programmes Dansefeber and So You Think You Can Dance Scandinavia, on which they also named and created a new jazz dance genre known as contemporary jazz.
