Requiem pour L

Mozart’s Requiem as you have never heard it before. A requiem, but at the same time an uplifting celebration of life.

This is the most recent collaboration by the choreographer and director Alain Platel and the composer Fabrizio Cassol, who were also behind the production Coupe Fatal performed at Dansens Hus in 2015.

A group of 14 exceptional musicians with backgrounds from Africa, Brazil and Europe give you a reconstructed Mozart, in which the music is influenced by African rhythms, jazz and opera. This is as much a concert as a dance performance. Platel and Cassol show us a poignant, visual world of death and rituals underpinned by movement, Mozart’s Requiem and a powerful cinematic portrayal of a woman’s deathbed, which runs throughout the performance.
